About Us

Prevent Child Abuse ND is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization dedicated exclusively to the prevention of child abuse and neglect.

A Chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America

Mission: Prevent Child Abuse North Dakota is committed to a safe and nurturing environment, free from abuse and neglect, for all children.

We do this through:

  • Public Awareness and Education
  • Training and Technical Assistance
  • Coordination of Services
  • Strategic Partnerships
  • Advocacy

Programs and Priorities:

 Our Programs Support our Mission By:

  • Informing the public that the prevention of abuse and neglect decreases lifelong adverse medical and emotional consequences for children and promotes their well-being;
  • Advocating for a continuum of services, access to those services and state-wide capacity to meet the developmental needs of children and families;
  • Delivering evidence based strategies that promote optimal models that enable communities to assess their ability and capacity to provide for children and families.

Our Programs Contribute to Families By:

  • Helping to prepare and support parents so that they can better care for their children;
  • Educating parents, grandparents, neighbors, babysitters, and other adults about situations and behaviors that can be harmful to children;
  • Raising public awareness on how all citizens can play a role in the prevention of child maltreatment and keep North Dakota’s children safe;
  • Developing educational materials and programming to promote nurturing parenting.
